And really looking forward to the next 4 to see if the tension holds up. And my rating so far.
I'm enjoying the action, the scenery and the faithful rendition of the books into a believable script.
North Bay is portrayed beautifully, I have stayed up with there with friends and it\s a magical place. The snow scenes and Casino are portrayed beautifully. And scenes in Toronto are well done.
More later.
Just completed all four seasons. Season 2 and 3 had far too many characters to keep track of and not as interesting storylines. Season 4 redeemed itself and was intriguing, working its way back to a previous crime and solving that also. I'm sorry there wasn't a Season 5 as the two leads were brilliant and the cinematography breathtaking. I had read Giles Blunt years ago but had forgotten the plots of his books but they were all brought to life in the series. Well done to all and my rating holds.

I could go on binging this but sleep calls. I will expand on this when I have seen the last 3 episodes tomorrow.
I have no issue with Clare Danes as many have. She's in the throes of unresolved grief, undealt with anger, writer's block and a failed marriage. She is literally falling part and climbing back up again. Stunning performance.
Same for Rhys. He's got the charm and attraction characters like him have in real life. An evil underneath that he portrays stunningly. You are drawn and repulsed at the same time.
Intelligent script too and direction is taut.
More later.
Later: My rating hasn't changed. I enjoyed it right to the end and won't add spoilers. The whole cast was brilliant and believable. And the resolution in Episode 8 was not cliched. At all.
Recommend.

I knew many involved in this doc. I worked briefly for the company that financed some of the projects he was involved in many, many years ago now.
He stood out on sets as a kind and grateful down to earth kind of guy, he looked you in the eye when he spoke, interested in who you were and what you were doing. Extraordinary in the acting world as most were very self involved and behaved as if you didn't exist. Many of whom were in this film.
This doc does him justice and captures his nature perfectly.
I cried the day he died, as many did.
Rest In Power John. One of a kind.
10/10.
