How the West Was Won (1962)

How the West Was Won

  • Bad, bad movie!

Mutli directors didn't work and it showed in this mundane, theme-less docudrama. The acting was awful and there was no story at all. Perhaps on the big screen, these things are less important because you're wowed by the majesty of the scenery but brass tacks alone, this is a stinker! I was very disappointed!
Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce Willis in Unbreakable (2000)

  • An exceptional character piece

Mr. Shyamalan has achieved the impossible. A super-hero story for adults that actually works. It is compelling and brilliant, disturbing and triumphant, a real work of art. Anyone who ever read comics as a child but craves a more sophisticated form of filmmaking will adore it. Watch Bruce win the Oscar, I'm not kidding!
Tim McCoy in Texas Cyclone (1932)

  • A man arrives in a town where the inhabitants recognize him as a hero long thought dead

A classic, innocent western. Fun and, at times, funny. John Wayne as Steve is worth the whole 58 minutes. Tim McCoy over acts like nothing I've ever seen and the whole movie is simply enjoyable. Find it if you can.
Michael Caine in Get Carter (1971)

  • A subtle, thrilling story, a definite 10 +

Get Carter is what every action film should be...subtle, strong, daring and truthful. Mike Hodges is not an advocate of violence but simply a window to a violent world. In Get Carter, the violence has consequences. In that there is honesty. Every films should strive to accomplish what this one does.
