This Hellboy movie is *nothing* like the previous ones. If you liked those, you most likely will not enjoy this one at all...
Humor, action, spectacle, fantasy setting -- well... that's not present in this movie.
It feels like a cheap B horror movie which takes itself way too seriously. It's barely 1h40min long but it feels much longer, the story just drags on and offers nothing worth attracting any attention at all.
I wonder how I'd feel about this movie had I never seen the first two (or three), at least in that case I'd have nothing to compare it to. But I feel that in that case, I still wouldn't have liked this movie.
If there's ever going to be a sequel (which I most seriously doubt) I'll 100% sure be skipping it.

I really like spoofs and such. As lame as they can be, most of them I thoroughly enjoy. For example, Date Movie is generally considered a bad movie but I had a lot of fun when I saw it.
Epic Movie however is quite something else. It just ain't funny - never. Now that I've seen it, I wonder why I even bothered seeing the entire movie.
There just were too many things in the movie which indicated no effort was made to produce a decent spoof. I can't go into any details here without giving away spoilers, but when you do muster the strength to see the movie you'll understand what's wrong with this movie.
I want more spoofs like Date Movie or Scary Movie. Those I could enjoy. Movie like Epic Movie, however, should be banned forever. I honestly never thought I would say such a thing about any movie, but here it is. Sorry to the folks who made this movie, but better luck next time.

Obviously, van Damme is on his way out of Hollywood. This movie is yet again proof of that.
The story is mediocre and it's just filled with loopholes. For example, for someone who has genetic memory, the replicant's memory is even worse than that of a pig. Further more, if he's a replicant, why doesn't he have the murderous tendecies his 'original' has? Not much of a replicant if you ask me...
Van Damme's acting is, I give him that, a bit better than his last few movies. However, it just barely makes up for the rest.
Six out of ten. This movie is great for filling up some time you've got left, however I'd recommend against actually making some time to see this movie.
