Topaz2's rating
So many people are trashing this show, and many either haven't watched it at all, or they only saw an episode or two. It has a young cast that will improve with time. The supernatural aspect is great. And it is multi-ethnic. All daytime soaps have growing pains at first. After they've been on the air a few months, they are far different than when they debuted. Give Passions a break, and watch it for a week or two instead of just listening to people saying it is no good. Judge for yourself!
This soap is really not very good. It is sluggish, and dull,
and lacking energy. The acting is only fair. While there are some big talents like Kathleen Noone and Clive Robertson, the majority of the cast is, at best, mediocre. Many of the plots are distasteful. For instance, one in which a woman impregnates her romantic rival by using a turkey baster full of sperm she stole from a clinic. The writers must think their audience is stupid. It's no wonder this show is bombing out in the U.S. It stinks!

First, I don't care for 1980s or 1990s films, in general. There is way too emphasis on action, explosions, swearing, nudity, and violence for my liking. "Dirty Dancing," though it is not completely "innocent," is a lot better in these respects than most recent films. And it tells an old, old story very well. Watching Jennifer Grey's character development is a delight. Patrick Swayze's dancing doesn't hurt, either. From what I have observed, more so than with just about any other film I can recall, this is not a movie that men like. But my female friends just about all love it. This is not a great movie, but it IS a great experience.
