The best fight scene is between The Jet and Jackie. It's lightning fast and pure excitement. Choreography is first-rate!
The fight scenes between Liu (student) & Wang (instructor) are just plain beautiful, especially at the end. This is the only movie I know of where Wang Lung Wei could be considered a "good guy".
The Five Deadly Venoms is easily the most memorable K.F. flick from the Shaw Brothers' stable (exc. maybe Master Killer). It has the artists who came to be known as simply "The Venoms", some of the best fight choreography ever, and, surprisingly for a Kung Fu movie, a great plot! One of my all-time favorites!!!
Four starving friends and their new friend are tricked by a madman into fighting each other. This movie has 3 major elements that any good kung fu movie must have: great cameraderie between the main heroes, awesome kung fu, and a great villain!
Again, the 5 Deadly Venoms (and Fu Sheng and Wang Lung Wei) prove why they're the best martial artists on screen! The action is first rate, but as usual the cameraman doesn't capture the whole scene in some parts. This, however is the only real flaw in this film. The story is much better than average and Philip Kwok finally plays one of the bad guys!
This is one of those rare times when almost all of the great martial arts actors from the 70s are in the same flick. Great action sequences and a more than passable plot (by Kung Fu standards) make this one of the better kick flicks of all time.
