Julia Roberts in Erin Brockovich (2000)

  • One to see!!

Though "Erin" is not a movie to be pegged as romance, law drama, politically correct in it's language (hey, it is rated R!) or action. It is based on real life and states it in the first seconds of the movie, therefore is not going to be packed with any of these things.

I loved it. You learn about Erin and her situation, her family, her career, (her cleavage) and her personal life. I felt her ups and downs and never forgot that this really happened. After learning all this, you end up rooting for her! I and the audience around me seemed to all agree that this is one to see!

  • Silly, but action packed

The movie brought back all the main points and characters of the original series. Remember Lorelei, the landlady? Bringing back Ray Walston was a crowning touch. The talking 'Zuit' was silly, but cute. My daughters thought the dancing/singing suit was funny. Not Disney at its best, but they could have done worse. I think Christopher Lloyd did quite well, as Martin. The movie relied more on special effects than on the powers that Martin had. I'd call it a nice outing with the kids, but would wait for the video if it was only for us grown-ups.

  • Praise to the original!

I saw this movie years ago (on a snowy b/w portable before cable).

The remake is true to this original with the exception of the ending. The fate of the trio was left in the air, unlike the promise of a "happy ending" of the remake. Nudity was not as blatant in this version. It was natural and more innocent than the remake.

I loved it. A true classic original that I would love to see again! I was disappointed when I wrote to England to find out that this movie is indefinitely withdrawal from future viewing.
