I'm a great fan of David Mitchell and i feel they've taken the old skit format and successfully updated it . Some of the repeating skits are a bit thin but it overall it's a bit of fun . It's a modern take but throws a good nod to its predecessors. As we had already emigrated by the time Mitchell and Webb first did a skit show I don't have a comparison but this show is of it's fine and it makes me laugh.
I find it rather funny that All these reviewers are complaining that Ian Rankin won't like what's been done to his creation and they are obviously oblivious to the fact that he fully supports this reimagining of a younger Rebus set in the present day. I think Richard Rankin does a great job as Rebus and I can't wait for 2nd series. The supporting actors are growing on me . This Rebus is a bit more violent than I really remember and I personally could
Do with a bit less of gratuitous violence but all in all
It's a winner . Good writing , good acting, not much to dislike here. I can see this series doing well .
When Marcella and her family come in to her house they bring 5pizzas. When they leave no one appears to take the pizzas. When Marcella is on her own again, not only at the pizzas gone from the table, there is a lamp on the table where the pizzas used to be. I'm not sure if anyone else noticed
