  • This movie actually made me angry...

Angry, in as so much as that I wasted my money, my time, and my intelligence. I could actually feel my brain cells die off while watching this atrocity. I would say that no one over the age of 11 should be let into this "movie", but that would be an insult to 11 year olds. Don't bother to read for a synopsis, given that you would first need a plot in order to have a synopsis. Indeed, I think I have already put more thought and effort into writing this comment than those who wrote the movie put into the script; that's assuming there even WAS a script.

I would give 0 stars, but I can only choose 1 as the lowest. Save your money... save your time... save YOURSELVES!!! Avoid this movie at all costs, and boycott anything else put out by these shameful "creators."

  • Pixar does it again!

I just returned from an advanced benefit screening of WALL*E, and I want to be careful not to spill too much regarding the movie. I had the added privilege of watching the film at Pixar, which in and of itself, was amazing.

This picture is not a cartoon; it is a film. In fact, it even has the LOOK of film. One of my complaints of more recent 3-D/CG animated films (not from Pixar) is that they all seem to look the same... clean lines, crisp colors, and very "virtual", for lack of a better term. WALL*E transcends the typical look of CG animation, and has a true to life "grit." The creators at Pixar are true artists, and are indeed masters of their craft. Not only are they masters of the technology, they are masters of telling a story. WALL*E is no exception.

The best way to describe the film is as a science fiction, comedy, dramatic love story. WALL*E, as a character, has dimension, personality, and heart... pretty impressive given that he is essentially a trash compactor. It is true that there is little dialogue in this feature, but I personally did not feel it detracted from the story at all.

WALL*E is very much a different Pixar film from it's previous features. I will be curious to see how it is received by others, but in my opinion, I think Pixar has stayed true to itself, demonstrating a commitment to telling great stories and pushing the edge of technology to leave your jaw dropping! My most sincere compliments to Andrew Stanton, Jim Morris, John Lasseter, Ben Burtt, and all the creative forces at Pixar. Can't wait to see what the future brings...

  • What the heck was THAT????

I have to confess that my expectations were low for the Hulk, ever since seeing the television commercials aired since the superbowl. My expectations, however, were lowered even more with each minute that I watched the movie (and trust me, I felt each and every minute). This film is in DIRE need of editing. The best thing: Elfman's soundtrack. As always, in top form. The worst thing: everything else. The CGI, yes it was okay... but c'mon... make it INTERESTING!! I didn't care for one character. And Nick Nolte... especially at the end... what the hell was all THAT about???? The story would have been better had they left dear old dad out of the picture. We didn't need sappy or sugary sweet, but providing some sense of momentum would have been appreciated. This movie inspired me to do only one thing: rush home and watch Spider-Man on DVD. If there is a Hulk sequel (and I'm sure there will be), I hope that it will be more dynamic in both story and pacing.

How I longed for the days of Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno. In fact, the highlight of the movie for me: Stan Lee and Lou Ferrigno walking together.

Save your money - or better yet, go see masterful story telling at "Finding Nemo".
