This film is the proof that critics can give off a very wrong idea about a movie. Black Adam is an amazing but brutal twist to the classic superhero genre, and leans heavily towards the origin story of a super villain, yet its storyline presents an interesting challenge to the morality of the audience. The film grabs the audiences attention right from the start with beautiful cinematic scenes and it keeps the attention right on focus throughout the entire film. Being someone who was unfamiliar with all the main characters in this story except for the main character, the film managed to introduce different characters in a short period of time, while keeping the focus on the main storyline. Coming from the MCU as a Marvel fan I was pleasantly suprised by Black Adam - I am genuinely excited for a sequel! The movie contained a deeper layer that in my honest opinion wove seamlessly in between the action packed scenes where Adam reaks havoc. From a semiotics perspective this made some of what otherwise could be mistaken for generic superhero movie dialogues all the more interesting and to me is what gave the extra kick to my rating of the movie. And to speak to the audio in the film, not only was the choice of music very well picked, the implementation of the music was very well done. Dwayne "The Rock" embodied the character well, and I was not at all distracted by having such an iconic character play another. You can tell he really immersed himself into his role for this. It was definitely not a 'The-Rock-with-a-cape-on' movie, as imo some of his movies do risk becoming overshadowed by his own iconic appearance, this was Black Adam in full effect.
Like DJ said before the release; this movie changes the hierarchy of power within the DCEU. And it does so in a very satisfying and brutal way. I enjoyed it and hope the DCEU continues this trend!

This movie is obviously not a big hollywood production, but it has a good potential. For the smaller production that it is, the acting is wholesome, the characters are likeable and well set up as is the world the movie plays in, the premise sets up some grounded messages that everyone can take home and be inspired by. A good introduction to the real world of prepping au contraire to the image that Hollywood has actually given to the "prepper".
