Awesome! Stunning! The film follows through the spirit of the books with the ever-present internal turmoil of Paul. It has the feel of mysticism of the books. The cinematography is spectacular and so is Hans Zimmer's music. The freemen and harkons are depicted really well and so is the planet Dune. At the same time, there are many details and happenings left behind, so for people who have not read the books it's a bit difficult to follow the narrative. The movie doesn't follow thoroughly the destiny of the other of the closest friends and servents of the Duke, who survived the massacre in part 1.
After watching the first episode, I think true fans of Tolkien, as I am myself, should really love the series. The film does justice to Tolkien, presenting the spirit of the story and the main characters really well. The cast of Galadriel and Elrond is perfect. Hobbits are awesome. The high elves are presented pretty well too. The way to Valinor was also presented perfectly. This story is not developed in great detail in Tolkien's writings, so it gives a lot of freedom to the producers and directors but so far they have been true to the spirit of the story. Looking forward to the characters of Celebrimbor and Gandalf.
A very powerful story, told in a very powerful way. Excellent cast and cinematography. The setting is the communist era central prison and metallurgical plant Kremikovtsi in Sofia. Reminds me of the Green Way in a way.
