It was a promising show, not unlike others that have popped up for crime show lovers. Colter, the main star, is nice eye candy but we need more if they want us to stay. His character is boring, his constant scowling and flat affect is boring, the continual tease of an interesting backstory reveal is tedious AND boring. Just tell us already! Then toward the end of the first season he has a sister and brother guesting, and it's still not interesting. For me the only bright spot has been the friend Reenie because at least she has a personality. The other costars offer very little value to this show either. It is Interesting though that it's been renewed for another season...but I predict it'll be the last.
First of all, this is NOT a little kids movie! I doubt they'd understand the one-liners or get the humor. Also I think they'd be bored with the grownup talk. Next, forget any review you read that gives some highbrow, snotty reason why you shouldn't see this movie. It was simply great FUN and has many laugh out loud moments. Indeed it took a minute to reconcile "Tony Stark" as this weird, eccentric dude who talks to animals but he does a great job. And the animals were so entertaining and funny! We weren't looking to be educated or lectured at, we wanted to see a funny movie...and we certainly did. Definitely going again next weekend.
9/10 because no movie is perfect but....we really enjoyed this! Car chases, blazing gunfire, explosions, daredevil stunting, unexpected funny moments, and a dude's head blows up ....what's not to love? And sincerely, I hope there's more to come.
(Of course the Debbie Downers of the techies and the Nellie Naysayers of "cinematography" will have bad things to say.)
But if you like action movies and Ryan Reynolds do as we didI this Christmas Eve - kick back, chill before the fam arrives, and enjoy a good flick. Merry Christmas ya filthy animals!
