I never watched the animated version or read the story so my views is totally based on the film alone and I can't compare it with original or anything.

The film has good plot and VFX and they established the underwater world verywell but when it came to the Human World they failed, human world looked very limited and unrealistic although they tried showed inclusivity on a small island like that. And the little moments of scuttle were very fun.

The villain lacked in dimension, I felt that the crab had much better dimensionality.

Plus the climax does not gives the best feelings, ending scene with the Mermaid's father looked plain bad and I don't know about the excessive use of songs and crappy lyrics maybe the kids liked it.

This film offers a little bit of everything, Humor, Adrenaline, Drama and Sorrow in a really balanced and lovable way which is why films like these are not so easy to find. And I wasn't expecting this thing from the cast which includes Michael Scott, Riddler and Walter White working together.

Proper time is given to introduction of each character of the family, each of them is having their own personal problem and yet they are fighting it while being together teaches us the value of family.

I really enjoyed the ending very much, it was very satisfying, The film teaches us that life is also about the journey and not just the destiny.
