I had been waiting for this movie for a couple of years. I was excited to buy the DVD from Amazon and I'm pleased that it has hit several streaming platforms. I have watched the movie once so far and will revisit again, as I usually get a more in depth experience the second viewing.
My first impressions are good. I loved the way this was shot. It had several interesting camera shots. Scenes were setup well and the lighting was good. Good audio capture occurred (that is a mark of competence that not all low budget movies can claim). I liked the story of local folklore that turned to almost legend status and the slow reveal of the truth. The main characters were interesting enough to keep my interest, the locations were fun to look at, the effects were well done, and the acting was good. I really enjoyed the look of the killer. Bill Oberst Jr. Stole the movie for me. He brought the right amount of creepiness and foreboding energy this type of story needs. This has a very classic slasher feel and quality. I thoroughly enjoyed this and I hope to see more of William Instone's work in the future.

This fun 90's style movie is what happens when horror fans, who also have a sense of humor, combine the slasher style of Scream and the ridiculous themes of Stephen King's Sleepwalkers. Real talent was displayed with the filming. This was a masterclass on shot on video with some very old school video effects. The special effects were fun and ridiculous. The storyline was Scream-ish, but not to the point you could even come close to guessing the outcome. Overacting was intended and served some of the jokes well. But this still managed to put forward some remarkable acting performances. Elizabeth Davoli gave us real emotion when it was appropriate. Likewise Andy Rowell blew me away with his charged accusatory speech near the climax of the movie. And Sasha Graham is always a delight. Glenn McBride Jr. Made the perfect detective to break the case and his car almost matched his on screen presence (that's not an insult. The car was almost another character). Do yourself a favor. Watch this, laugh big, and enjoy this insane ride the way the filmmakers would want you to.
This is a very good looking movie with a well written story. It's slightly different than your average Satanic cult movie as it doesn't really focus on Satan. There are some powerhouse performances in this from the main cast. Scott Doss is perfect as the cult leader Julian. James Stokes shows a rarely seen dynamic of a caring stepfather who wants to find answers and protect his family. This is topped off by an emotionally charged performance by Annie Sullivan who is the focus of the story. It keeps you guessing and by the end has you questioning the very fabric of reality. Definitely worth your time. I'm so glad they'll be getting distribution through Bay View Entertainment. This needs to be seen and enjoyed by many.
