I didn't like it back then, but my Father was glued to the TV and even had the box sets.
As we grow older ourselves, we tend to view our parents differently & seek a link back to good times. Resulting in an effort to understand them better. One way I have achieved that link was through my Father's favourite TV shows, such as Only when I laugh, the Sharpe series (Sharpe's Rifles) and such, Dad's Army and When the boat comes in.
I recently watched James Bolam in When The Boat Comes In.
His acting is wonderful and the storyline is good, scripts could be sketchy, but average out to make it exceptional over the 4 seasons.
Though it would never make it abroad, Bolam should have won a BAFTA for Best Actor!, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!. 9 OUT 10 & it deserves it.

I gave High Noon an 8, though I confess to never understanding it's huge success.
A childhood friend had framed poster images from High Noon, all the way through college and his University years.
Recently he asked me to set the timing on his vintage Mustang.
There in his garage were the framed posters from High Noon.
Don (my friend) asked: " was that not the greatest Cowboy Movie ever made?" . I reserved comment so as not to offend and instead asked him, Why is it the greatest.
He replied, because it shows the struggle of a man against evil, who sacrifices his new bride, new life & a comforts le future, his friends and possibly his own life, to do what needed to be done!!.
The Lawman taking on evil against all the odds!.
It was honestly the first time I saw High Noon for what it means to so many!!.
I normally score on Script, Acting, cinematography, Direction & production. But I also learned something new thanks to my buddy Don.

In my humble opinion the very best of reality TV. If any man works for a income, Marty sure does!!.
The spitting cowboy brings salt of the earth reality, to the fake, glitter and glam world of reality TV.
It's genuinely a breath of fresh air to see real people actually being helped by real people!!.
Let us hope that the Rainey's charge to the top of TV ratings, means that the pretend world of fake lady bits, (I said BITS) & unachievable wealth, is finally seeing it's demise.
Many websites claim that the Raineys are wealthy folk, as though that is somehow a bad thing, but when you work as hard as these guy's do, hell I hope so!!.
Either way, SO WHAT!?!, The folk they help are struggling to survive, some are desperate and most are about to give up!. That in itself shows the worth & value of Marty, Misty and Matt.
