If you like a real, authentic experience, wildlife and nature this is a great masterpiece to watch. It looks like a documentary rather than movie. It introduces you to hardships of men that explore the vast lands of East Siberia and shows life and culture of indigenous people.
That's how it appears to a city dweller at least. You've never been that far from civilization. You've never hunt to feed yourself. Cold is never an issue and only Game of Thrones taught you to afraid of the coming winter. After decades of high quality blockbuster movies, this ancient Soviet movie brings you back to what is true. People are small and nature is big. Elderly are knowledge and experience. People are people regardless of race and religion. A good dog isn't just a good friend, but a valuable asset in Taiga.
I hope you enjoy this movie as I did.
