I saw a special screening of this film as part of the 2024 Lighthouse International Film Festival and was absolutely blown away. There wasn't an open seat in the theater and the crowd loved every second of it. There were not only hilarious jokes but this movie did an incredible job at pulling at the emotional strings of viewers. I actually cried at the ending and I saw a few other people pull out tissues as well. The director did such an amazing job at balancing the humor and the emotional moments. The cast was fantastic too. I hadn't seen Jon Heder in a while but this felt like his coming back party. His performance was equally funny and charming. He usually plays the stereotypical nerd character so it was refreshing to see him as a (non-stereotypical) leading man. I wasn't familiar with the lead actress Jamie Lee but she was hilarious and crushed a few dramatic scenes as well. I can honestly say that I don't think I've laughed this hard while watching a movie since the first time I saw This is 40 which was 10+ years ago. I would highly recommend seeing this movie.
