Sorry to say that, but this was the worst 45 minutes of a TV Show I watched mhhh let me say in the last 25 years or so. Unbelievable bad in every way. Really I don't know where to start. Let us begin with the script: Really, I mean really? Women in their mid to end 50's behave, react an speak like they are in their 30's? This is so cringe. I had to laugh from the begining. Is this show concepted as a comedy? OK, than it works for me.
The dialogues: Sorry, really sorry I mean I don't know any women in ther mid or late 50's who are speaking in that way. It's ridicolus.
The characters: All cliches hurray. For example the gay men in this show are obvisously camp. Why?
It's all so bad. Really. Skip this show. It's a waste of your lifetime.

Although 1899 is from the same showrunners as Dark (maybe the best netflix show ever) it's completely different from it. The two german showrunners and writers Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese did an amazing job. The show is from start to end perfectly written an directed. As I don't want to spoil here, I can't say too much. But the visuals ans production values are great. To sump up the show it's a mixture of Matrix, Lost and - surprinsigly - David Lynch's Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive and even Twin Peaks season 3 (one hint: the beetle). I guess the director Baran bo Odar loves David Lynch and his works. The references are pretty obvious.
It keeps getting worse. Sorry, but is Riverdale a comedy show now or what? But it's really bad comedy. The script and dialogues are ridiculously bad. I feel sorry for the actors who basically do a good job. The whole development of the show is tragic.
