Some good plot twists and a decent storyline, but sadly, it fell apart when it mattered most. So much so, that it leaves you wondering if there was a plot at all.
Multiple plot points were left unfinished, over and above the actual outcome itself. If it was an attempt to create opportunity for a sequel, the attempt was too desperate to keep me interested.
Even this review I'm dragging out just to make the minimum character count for it to be published because it resonates so strongly with how I feel after watching this movie.
The only reason it doesn't get less than 5 stars is because it was a decent movie until it wasn't.

I was sceptical at first. I expected it to be another MAGA script, but fortunately it proved not to be. Surrealistically realistic. If that's even a word. The editing was gritty and the storyline landed powerful messages without breaking into song or preaching.
Very convincing performances across the board with the character of Jessie bringing surprising depth to the story without being clichéd.
I think the story itself is almost prophetic given current world events, which adds to the jarring delivery that has a Full Metal Jacket feel to it as far as realism is concerned.
The CGI wasn't imposing either. Giving it 8 stars because it's both an important movie, and it's produced well.

Described as a 'gripping sci-fi thriller', it meets one of those three claims. It's sci-fi. The plot is mildly intriguing with some curious perspectives that feel somewhat fresh. However, the movie presents itself as if it was an essay converted into a dialogue, which was redeveloped into a screenplay and finally promoted to a low budget movie that found it's way to my TV screen.
The positive is that the arguments presented about the AI's capability are plausible and not wishful thinking. The negative is that it has a monotone feel to its delivery, with the plot twists not very surprising at all.
Watch it if you're looking to stretch your mind a little. Don't watch it if you're hoping to satisfy your sci-fi craving.
