Im a big fan of HG Well's War of the worlds, so I always look out for any films / shows that are based on this book. This shouldnt have been based on this book.
Many people reviewing this, no doubt expected War of the Worlds type film .... it was nothing like that. Whilst I wont give the plot away, there was no machines that sucked up humans, or attacking any human in sight.
This film would have been far more effective and interesting, had it not been linked to War of the worlds, as I promise you, it was nothing like it.
I actually found the film OK. I admit it got boring at times and there was very few locations, with it all mainly being set in the same three or so rooms, but it was an interesting take on an Aliens landing on Earth.
Had this had a better budget, more locations, more action, better story lines and not connected to WOTW, then this movie, would / could have had some success and a good following.
However because of the title of the film, I will compare it to the 2005 version, with Tom Cruise. Whatever you rated that movie, out of ten, then half the vote and that is what to expect with this movie. So if Tom's was a ten, then this one, you would vote a 5.
Is it worth a watch? Well I spent the first ten minutes thinking Ice Cube's character was the actor, Colton Dunn (who I think would have played the character better). The acting was sub par, even by Ice cube.
The plot, got a bit ' what's going on, at times and I admit, a lot of it wasnt even needed.
I would watch a sequel, if they decided to do one, but it's a movie that you shouldnt watch, unless you are absolutely bored.

I will seriously disappointed with the show. It has a lot of famous British TV actors or actresses in it.
The TV show is like a cheap knock off of George Romero's 70's and 80's horror films. The acting is far below standard. The storyline, is something from 40 years ago and poorly constructed.
I know it has different finances to The Walking Dead, but it shows. I'd rather watch the original Night of the living dead movies, over this pile of poop
I gave up on this TV show after a few episodes. The whole plot of it was just stupid. I'm still kind of speechless now at what I've seen. I don't even understand how Channel four, thought 'wow this is a great show, let's air it'.
Truth be told, if I had to wait on this show in any capacity, whether write, actor, director or producer, I would be ashamed and be keeping it off my IMDb.
