This is a good rock documentary for anyone looking to get an introduction to The Band and their history. The film is based off of Robbie Robertson's autobiography, however, and this definitely shows. The doc very briefly goes over each major event in the history of The Band with a focus on Robbie. There are interviews with the rest of The Band, Bob Dylan and other key figures but the bulk of the interview content is supplied by Robertson and his ex-wife Dominique. Still lots of interesting interviews, photos and footage that I enjoyed seeing, so definitely worth the watch for any new or old fans of The Band. But if you are looking for a more in-depth history of The Band and all its members, this isn't it.
Some parts were mildly funny to me but for the most part this show is very, very bad. There are too many awful sex jokes. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you want to suffer.
