Many have rewarded this movie with a 9 or 10. For me, a 9-10 would have to be equal to Casablanca or Gone with the Wind. This is a good movie but not up to mentioned examples excellence. To mate the city of Budapest with these actors was almost laughable. The film had little credibility for that reason alone. Why they could not have just used the story with a New York setting is beyond me. So as a final rating I would give the story a 7.5 with a loss of 1.5 because of Budapest with American actors. So, overall a 6/10. A pleasant holiday movie worth a look once or twice, not like the frequent watch of Wonderful Life.
I would have given this a 4/10 but some people gave a very unrealistic 8-9-10 thus, ranking this movie up there with Casablanca and Gone with the Wind. So,I feel the need to only give it a two (2), This is another Hallmark movie seen on Pixel without commercials. And another Hallmark movie with with a horrible music score tied to it. Seems like this is a common theme, not with just my reviews but other also. At times an unwatchable movie has resulted due to the score. In this movie Lindsay Wagner is good but plays a similar character as. Thicker Than Water. She has definitely aged well. There are four subplot romances that are tolerable. Not bad, not good.
A low budget gem. I caught a portion of this mid movie and thought it might be worth DVRing so looked for next showing and recorded. Watched couple days later and this will be a keeper. Played well by all involved. Loosely reminded me of The Accountant whereas Affleck's character HAD to finish, so did Dakota's character. I am so glad they did not copy the Rain Man scene of stopping in the crosswalk. Also, the premise of her idea for a Star Trek episode/movie sounded interesting. I am almost sad this didn't continue. I coulda watched more. Very good. Cheers to the writer(s), director and actors.
