I'm new to the story so not coming in with any pre conceived ideas on how I think the characters should be cast in my minds eye. I loved the nostalgia and the soundtrack is great, it could be my Amazon music playlist, it's a beautiful story thats wonderfully acted. The chemistry between the two main actors is sublime. I think there would be a miscarriage of justice if there isn't plenty of nominations come awards season. Leo Woodall does a great job with a character that could be very unlikable in other hands and what can I say about Ambika Mod's portrayal as Emma? Just perfection, I think one of the best and most engaging performances I've seen in a while. Also I should add a tremendous cast outside the main two characters, I was so invested I needed to know what happened to the likes of ian. Can't praise this show enough, a must watch.
A show that's just got better and better as it's gone on, it's grown in stature and story telling. It's faithful to it's source material and the cinematography is stunningly beautiful to watch. Tolkien deserves his stories to be told with care and this show is clearly made by people who love Tolkien's work. It's Wonderful stuff and I hope the toxic fans don't spoil another great show. Also please ignore the daft reviews that seem upset that mythical fictional creatures have ethnicity, it's bizarre that they would think that there wouldn't be hobbits of colour. It's about time these people grew up and stopped with their silly culture war stuff.
First of all ignore the daft 'woke' comments , pretty sure most people don't even understand what they mean by that. Sorry, I was hoping this would be a good movie but it really misses the mark. It's just a bit of a cliched detective movie with batman tacked on, Patterson doesn't have the gravitas for the main role and just seems like a sulky teenager. I won't be wasting my time on a sequel. Also overly long and they could have cut an hour of the run time.
