Brillante parodia del Giustiziere della Notte, con Franchi somigliantissimo a Bronson, specie quando indossa i baffetti. Ottimo cast di supporto e due o tre scene memorabili.
Un godibile film comico avventuroso che in Italia è conosciuto con il titolo Spie, pasticci e bugie. Grande duetto fra due attori eccezionali come Warner e Loggia.
Coloratissimo, musicale, emozionante e non privo di momenti di pathos e di ironia. Dopo la versione con Chaney la migliore trasposizione del racconto di Leroux. E Claude Rains non si dimentica.
