we want more Fallout
14 April 2024
I was afraid this show will be weak or average, but it's simply awesome.

Everything is very detailed, every item is like from Fallout, as if someone who knows the game created a movie - it's truly shocking that this is possible in 2024.

The humor, the story, the mood, the music - everything is there!!!

I was afraid that Lucy will be "strong woman" like in other modern shows but she is very cool and likeable. Of course Cooper is fantastic and Maximus is also great.

Dear Amazon, dear Jeff Bezos - please cancel Rings of Power immediately and put all your money into the next seasons of Fallout!

Good intro and cgi
27 June 2023
I am not sure who enjoys this series, it's extremely highly rated here on IMDb.

After three episodes I am not sure what this is about. It's very boring to watch. There are supernatural things but it's not fantasy or sf. It's hard to say what kind of horror it is. Probably just gore kind. There is no fear, there are dead bodies.

Visuals are nice, there is promising intro and some nice CGI. But there is no plot. It's like watching person entering empty house, then evil ghost eats this person and that's all. What just happened? What was the point of this? Why am I watching it?

Highly overrated in my opinion.

Black Mirror: Beyond the Sea (2023)

too long and quite boring
23 June 2023
I am fan of Black MIrror and I am fan or Aaron Paul.. So probably my hopes were too high.

There are no problems with acting, Aaron is great. Other actors too. I like the atmosphere, visuals are great, nothing to complain.

The main problem with that episode is that it is quite boring. It's quite obvious what will happen, there is no "surprise moment" at all. The whole idea is good, it could be good episode, but it's too long!

It's not terrible (6/10 is still above average), but I think they should put more things into the plot, try to create some plot twists and just make the episode more interesting.

very good episode on many levels
23 June 2023
This is the real Science Fiction, there is a very good plot, which I am not going to spoil now. But it's multilayered.

Salma Hayek is simply awesome.

It's really interesting that they attacked Netflix itself inside Netflix production. And no, it's not fake attack, they clearly explained what are the dangers of the world today. Netflix employees are soulless, evil corporate creatures and they think about profit only, don't care about any harm to the real people or society.

Overall I think it's the best episode of season 6. Also it's better than any episode in Saeson 5. It's not too long like some other modern episodes (which are boring). Highly recommended.

It's actually a very good comedy
31 May 2023
It's very hard to find any good comedy today, most comedies are unfunny, often romantic movies are advertised as a comedy. This one works. It was an enjoyable experience. The mood is great, the story is nice and it's funny.

There are no woke elements in FUBAR. Most characters are interesting. I think Tally is not developed enough and kind of flat. In the beginning I was also thinking there are too many family drama elements but they work together later in the show.

Of course probably I like it because I know Arnold from many movies so it's a familar face with familar style. But it's nice to see him in the series instead just another movie.

Good enterteinment, easy to watch, funny. Give it a try.

Star Trek: Picard: The Last Generation (2023)
Season 3, Episode 10
10/10
Imagine all episodes like this one
21 April 2023
Star Trek Picard season 3 was the continuation I was waiting for since Star Trek Enterprise was cancelled. All these JJ Abrams movies then series by AK were not that.

However. Paramount told us we don't want "old Star Trek", instead they said we want soap opera in space uniforms. So they invested lots of money in Star Trek Discovery.

Please notice that season 3 of Picard was probably on lower budget, you can see that they couldn't use many effects (changelings) and often scenes were small. It's like the original Star Trek, when they needed to find a way to make good show without lots of money.

Audio effects and music are very important for Star Trek, that makes huge difference in the final result. We see good actors doing good job and the story makes sense and it's not boring. It's still mostly too dark but some scenes like Enterprise D are actually bright.

Imagine all Star Trek shows like that. Imagine 3 seasons of Picard like this season. Imagine 5 years of Discovery with that kind of writing. Imagine more, imagine things are episodic. All the time I was worried that at some point they will come back to woke politics or that Michael Burnham will appear on the screen. But there was nothing like that to the end.

Also it's worth to note that Patrick Stewart fooled everyone. He is a good actor and he was not fan of captain Picard. He was playing "old man" all the time, only in the last episodes he started to play captain Picard again. The hint for that is in the one episode from season 1 when he was playing poor actor. And you can see he really fooled everyone because so many reviewers and youtubers said that Patrick Stewart is too old to play.

I really hope Paramount is going to continue that somehow. If for any reason that won't happen - HBO, Netflix or Amazon should hire people responsible for success of season 3 and make great SF (same way as Orville was created).

good series overall, some flaws in season 4
26 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am big fan of the whole series, it's very enjoyable to watch it because all the details (internal monologue, observations, opinions).

It's obvious that after 4 seasons people are little bored, so first seasons are always more popular than later ones. However, there are also some issues.

In the season 4 we have Nadia. She is quite annoying. Not because her role in the plot, but because how she behaves, who she is, her comments, opinions and behaviour are annoying. This is not a critique of actress, but character. I think she is just written this way.

Also while I enjoy balance between rich and poor, left and right, and so on... there is kind of wokism added in seasons 4, at least in Nadia and maybe in Kate.

Let's hope season 5 will be good.

Star Trek: Picard: Imposters (2023)
Season 3, Episode 5

That was best Picard episode, not the previous one
17 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Previous episode of Picard had at least two important flaws: bucket and hugging Volkans. This one is much better.

The story is very interesting, I was watching to see what's going on, what is the mystery, who is doing what. Ro was a very nice surprise and the dialogues were heavy and deep. I was very sad at the end.

Visuals are great, audio and music is excellent, this is how modern Star Trek should look like. Of course everything is dark.... I understand the direction to more cinematic view, lighting in TNG was not great (at least in the first seasons) but this is too much and there should be a balance between bright scenes and dark scenes.

I am happy that Worf is back (previous episode had no Worf). Also they were smart with Raffi this time, yes she is still annoying but they used it to show the contrast with Worf, so her behaviour can be funny.

I hope this season will be good to the end.

Star Trek: Picard: No Win Scenario (2023)
Season 3, Episode 4

good but not best
12 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am enjoying season 3 of Picard for now, but I am surprised this episode is considered best of the four episodes, in my opinion it has many flaws.

One of the thing pointed out that many people is the bucket. It has no sense at all. Looks like people who was working on this episode was not watching DS9. Yes, even actors can be blind, just like WW who was in TNG but don't know much about universe.

The thing which was very annoying to me were hugging Volkans. It looks like Star Trek Discovery crew needed to put "something" in the episode so they added hugging Volkans.

There was a lot of good things in this episode like Beverly working on waves, or Seven doing search or Riker commanding the ship or Shaw being Shaw. But the fact people don't see these flaws is quite strange.

great start of season 3
17 February 2023
It's better than any Star Trek from Alex Kurtzman before (I think it's better than SNW if you look at the whole SNW season), however please remember that start of season 2 was also good and then they moved down to the bottom.

Good cast, I like the actors and the acting (I was not fan of Raffi in previous seasons but she is not annoying yet). They promised whole cast of TNG so I assume more actors will join in next episodes (hopefully not just for short scenes). Great visuals, awesome music and sounds (this is very important for Star Trek!).

I like that they are on ships, not on Earth. Story looks interesting but we will see how it will develop in the future.

Manifest (2018–2023)
10/10
Review after 2 seasons
24 January 2023
Few years ago I have seen that there is a new show called Manifest and I was trying to watch the first episode. It was boring. The premise of the show that there are some passengers who were missing for 5 years was not interesting because all I see was talking how sad they are because they missed some years. So I was not able to finish the first episode.

Then in 2023 I realized there are 4 seasons of this show. How they filled 4 seasons with such boring idea? I needed to find out.

Looks like it was just a very slow start. It's actually a very good science fiction show. There is kind of time travel vibe but mainly topics like free will, causality and predictions. There are many lines in a plot and everything is connected.

It's quite warm, there are many likable characters. Also there are no woke elements in the show. So watching it is a lot more pleasant than most modern shows.

I have seen Josh Dallas in Once Upon Time, here his acting is more mature. Melissa Roxburgh is a great actress but for some reason I enjoy Parveen Kaur a lot too. I don't see any bad acting in the show. So after two seasons I can say it's 10/10.

Killing Eve (2018–2022)

overall it was a good show
14 October 2022
I was watching it mostly for artistic reasons, there is also good acting and often a good comedy. Last season was kind of dumb but this was to be expected if you compare to other modern shows (also you can notice some woke). I still don't understand why they spend so much money on tv shows but they can't hire person who can write good story, maybe writers must focus on checkboxes instead story now. The only other reason is that producers are people with very small IQ. I guesss we just need to accept this state.

Overall it was worth watching. I wonder is Jodie Comer also so good in other shows, I hope I will be able to watch more.

House of the Dragon: Second of His Name (2022)
Season 1, Episode 3

very enjoyable
5 September 2022
I was not happy after the first episode, in my opinion it was overhyped. However the second one was better and third one is excellent.

There are very good dialogues, very good scenes with horses and battles and big scenes overall. The episode was not boring at all (I was bored during watching first one, maybe because trailers?).

Lots of beautiful views, both landscapes and interior scenes are great, love the cinematography. However I feel the CGI are not best, while you may say dragon is as it should be, because you can't compare to real dragon, I think animals are kind of fake. But maybe it is just a feeling?

I am starting to like actors in this show. Maybe it needs time.

I think it was good idea to make show based on finished book because we can be sure the plot will be good and there will be no repeat Game of Thrones situation.

not great start
22 August 2022
The main problem with the first episode is that it was really boring. You can say that there were dragons and there was a princess and there were people with white hair. OK but they were also in trailers. I don't remember any surprise during the episode. Do you really enjoyed it same way as GOT years ago?

There wasn;'t anything really awful or even bad. Well maybe the wigs are lame. And visually it's not best. And music is worse than GOT. But these are details.

Do you like characters? I don't see any likeable character yet. It wasn't like that in GOT. I was watching different characters and they were interesting. Who is interesting here and why?

Can you compare any actress in the show to Emilia C? Any Peter D? Or Kit C?

I am HBO subscriber and I want this show to be good. But it wasn't really good start. Let's hope it will change in next episodes.

After shows like Star Trek Discovery I wonder how many reviews are fake, probably many 10/10 are fake but I assume some are also honest. Please notice you can read negative reviews with ratings 6/10 which shows that creating lots of high ratings helps constructing initial value.

I like how perfectly Bryan is playing.

I hate only one thing - we are so close to the end of the story....

I assume there will be many negative reviews for this and previous episode, oh well, I hope those people will rewatch everything later.

excellent ending
12 May 2022
I just finished watching last episode few minutes ago and decided to rate it here. I enjoyed the ending more than I enjoyed ending of Breaking Bad. I see some negative comments here, I am going to read them soon, but before that I wanted to make sure I write my positive comment.

All the plots I remember were solved.

Finale was realistic, not fairy tale (can't write more without spoilers).

Last sentence of dialog in Ozark is just awesome summary of everything.

Congratulations to whole team, you made fantastic series.

doesn't make any sense at all
6 May 2022
Season 2 started well, however after few episodes it was almost as stupid and boring as Discovery. Now there was a finale and you may think last episode is good as the first one. However, the problem is that it doesn't make any sense now. There was a time travel and they changed the past and it doesn't matter at all. Look at all positive reviews here - there are from people who are not interested in SF at all if this kind of problem is not an issue for them, they are same people who enjoy Discovery. So basically we see same fake reviews from fake viewers as with Discovery.

It's a really sad, because there was some potential - Brent Spiner was playing well, Jeri Ryan was available but mostly wasted on bad scenes also Alison Pill is a good actress, all this diseaster is because the bad writting. Also they could use Whoopi Goldberg more. Not to mention there should be more time for John de Lancie on screen. And the could skip Wil Wheaton.

masterpiece
30 April 2022
It's really difficult to find a really good series today. Sometimes there is a one good episode then terrible continuation, sometimes there are some good ideas then terrible execution, but this is an exception, this show is excellent.

There are many similarities to Rosemary's Baby (I don't see anyone mentioned it in reviews) - the atmosphere, the "cult", rituals, even the idea of baby (no spoilers). However if you pay attention it is actually also very good science fiction plot - there is kind of time travel here and both idea and execution is really mindblowing.

Acting, cinematography, writing, everything is awesome. There are some opinions that the show is slow.... well it's like saying that Breaking Bad is slow, I don't see any fillers here, everything is great, everything is needed and everything is a part of the story.

When I was watching it, I already knew that Netflix decided to cancel the show. There are two reasons they could do it - first, maybe the show was too complex, too ambitious. For people... so not many people enjoyed it, however I think the true reason was different - this show is just intelligent, thought provoking.multi-layered, but it lacks any political agenda, so Netflix hated it.

However, the season is complete, there is an ending, and while it is obvious they wanted to create second season - even the one is good.

It's really shame that HBO or Amazon can't pick that show up and create continuation. Oh well, I will just try to check who made the show and search for more their art in the future.

Highly recommended.

So it is Lord of the Flies, there are children and they are eating and running and fighting and then there is the end of the movie.

It's sad that Amazon cancelled Expanse and instead give us movies like that. I still don't understand how big business works.

Star Trek: Picard: Watcher (2022)

still good show
26 March 2022
Season 2 of Picard is still good - better than Season 1 and much better than terrible Discovery.

Problem with IMDB in recent years is that reviews are worthless. It's obvious when you read 10/10 reviews for Star Treks but in this case there are also 1/10 reviews for new Picard. These people probably don't watch show at all.

There is some story, it's quite enjoyable (opposite to Discovery), Borg Queen still shines. There is some political agenda in this episode, but it's not very different from Star Trek in 90s and it's very different from Discovery. I want to repeat - people voring 10/10 for Discovery just like people voting 1/10 for Picard probably don't know Star Trek at all. They maybe saw some single episodes years ago but they don't know what this show is about. I rewatched TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT in last years so I think I have some knowledge.

Star Trek: Picard: Assimilation (2022)
Season 2, Episode 3

three episodes and still good
18 March 2022
I am not sure what happened to Alex Kurtzman, maybe he is too busy to mess Star Trek anymore, so accidentally second season of Star Trek Picard is much better than first one and also than Discovery.

There is a story and story is interesting. Production value is high, there is a nice mood and effects. There is a mix of action scenes and slow scenes but slow scenes are not stupid - there are no boring pointless talks we know from Discovery.

It was a strange idea to call this show "Picard" because Picard is no lead character here, I would say Seven of Nine is right now. However the best character in this episode is Borg Queen. There is not much Q but he is adding to the mood and story. Important thing is that characters are likable (unlike Discovery).

It's hard to say what will happen in next episodes (I mean will they drop the quality) but for now it is enjoyable. There is almost no connection at all to season 1 which was just collection of random scenes and stupid storyline.

Waiting for Strange New Worlds, I hope it will be good from the start!

I know it's not big achievement, but first episode on second season is much, much better than Star Trek Discovery.

Also some progress from season 1 is visible: there are no angry women screaming on Picard. It has some Star Trek vibes, especialy when they were on the ship.

Again too long discussions about feelings and about nothing.

29 January 2022
Kevin Smith was very interesting director, he created multiple great movies in 90s, it was pleasure to watch them. Clerks, Dogma, Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Jay & Silent Bob, then even Clerks 2. I was big fan of Kevin Smith for many years.

His new creations are much worse. What happened? Has he lost his talent? I think the explaination are drugs. Don't do drugs kids or you will be bad in your job just like Kevin Smith is now.
