Just like every other great episode of Star Trek you just need to open your imagination and ask...
What can happen IF ... ???
The answer these writers got to this question for the good doctor's daughter sweep me, you, everyone into a child's fantasy which gave his daughter a life of meaning and adventure and nobody had to beat up a stunt guy wearing a rubber suit.
THIS is Star Trek at its finest and I loved the the writers answer to the question!
Damn I love Star Trek!!

... the people. Just as America is its people and many of those people are horrified at the direction our current administration has taken us.
Today's episode is very much like that of the Star Trek (The Original Series) of the 60's where they knew what was happening off stage and knew of its turmoil yet their episodes birthed hope still.
Then, as I still hold now, I HAVE HOPE for a better future for my children.

How did Caption Kirk become the Captain loved in TOS?
This episode goes a long way in explaining that. Kirk isn't just some brash young Captain in today's Star Trek and he's already way more mature than the character we observed in the 1960s.
I loved this episode and personally I think that if today's cast redid an old episode some folks would still say it is horrible writing.
Personally, I would ignore every bad review bc in my world, my make believe, space flying, sci-fi loving world.., there is no such thing as a bad episode of Star Trek! And I also know that if you are a Trekkie, yeah, I know you agree!
