As my review title suggests, this is a very real and emotional repreentation of what it's really like in the world of escorting. There are a lot of strange people out there who use and abuse escorts or 'sex workers' as we now more affectionately refer to them. People forget they are real human beings with real feelings. Pau Maso as Actor, Writer, Director and Editor really hammers home the reality of this largely hidden world. A low budget film with a real meaningful punch. I will be watching this again for sure. Given also the film was shot using equipment relative to a low budget feature, it really does look great on screen. I watched this on my large cinema scren at home and was very impressed.
This is a great movie which captures all the motion associated with the abuse of a 14 year old boy. The Director and Editor have paced this film wonderfully to extract the emotion of Davide as he struggles with life at home and with his new life on the streets. Very emotional and brilliantly acted by Davide who obviously fully understood the feelings of this boy. Once you get inside Davide's head which the Director and Editor achieved by the perfect pacing of the film just cannot fail to move you. Davide is brilliant and the other actors surrounding him are brilliant too. The whole movie seems so real and authentic. Tremendous watch.
I think the actors did a great job here in bringing home the horror of abuse. The film making wasn't up to the standard I was expecting. Editing and directing was quite poor and the audio wasn't good at all. However, the lead actors made up for it with a fantastic performance from Sean. He is the star for sure. His Mother and sisters put in great performances too. Also thought Sean's friend - the black guy, sorry I can't remember his character name - he was brilliant too. The film could have been improved by just being both 'tighter' and shorter'. It's a common mistake when making a film such as this to let it go on just a bit too long. Worth watching though as it will give you an insight into the complications surrounding abuse.
