I'm deeply disappointed that there won't be a second season. From the first episode to the last, I was completely hooked. The animation and visual design are stunning, with every frame feeling like a work of art. The story and characters drew me in completely, and it's heartbreaking that we won't get to see how the rest of the story unfolds.
The series reminded me of the film Annihilation-likely because of its alien planet setting, as well as the unique plants and creatures that play a central role in both stories.
What truly stands out is how the series portrays the cycles of life-birth, death, and the interconnected existence of everything on the planet. Watching how the survivors of the Demeter adapt to this mysterious world is fascinating.
I wholeheartedly recommend this series to any sci-fi fan and will definitely be rewatching it!
