An absolute golden film. After a 36 year wait, I was doubtful this film would match that of the original. Yet it didn't it has absolutely blown it away like a missile hitting a toy plane.
Top gun maverick will have you feeling every emotion with not a single dull moment you will go from laughing to sitting on the edge of your seat unable to take your eyes off of the screen.
The new characters fit into the franchise superbly which you will fall in love with in no time.
Their is just the right amount of throw backs so it doesn't feel like the original top gun.
A must watch top 3 film of the year so far.

Often would give this sort of film a miss, however after being recommended by a friend to watch the first, I couldn't t give this a miss. Ensure you give Wanda vision a watch before hand or you will miss some key elements to the film.
The film itself is a is visually spectacular, almost as good as the first dr strange. It keeps you attention right from the start, and continues through out.
The film develops well and has a good balance of comedy, action and horror throughout. Madness at times is a slight understatement. Most of the film fitted in nicely however a couple of scenes really did not need to be included.
The acting is mostly very good but a few times lacks the consistency I would expect, but we do get to see the characters develop further.
The film in total is an entertaining watch and felt shorter than 2 hours, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

A likeable film however I can't help but feel for the potential that it missed out on. The actors fulfilled their roles and we were able to get to know the characters.
The film often digressed from the main theme and and focused on far less relevant sub plots. Contrasting this some more interesting scenes felt to be cut short.
