The signs were there early, the mention of metahumans and the presence of Krypto - should have made me realise this was not a further retelling of Superman's life story, but a fully reimagined universe - albeit with Lex Luther as the primary villain again.
A woeful plot. Poor story telling. Just mindless action and effect after effect after effect. By far the worse Superman movie since perhaps Superman IV. If you LOVE all things Superman then this might be for you. If you LIKE the Superman story and expect to see a more conventional Superman movie - this is not for you. Horses for courses as they say; but utter garbage as far as this Gen X-er is concerned.

The trailer made this seem a pretty compelling viewing, but it is rather dull and though the plot is not quite predictable, it doesn't wander too far from where you expect it might go. The performances of the three leads are first rate and the supporting cast is strong. I suspect it's a reasonable snapshot of contemporary prison life and the difficulties of both the inmates and the impact of institutionalisation. The unspoken narrative on the frailties of the human condition are well captured too. Perhaps I'm being a little harsh as a critic... I think I went into it expecting too much and found myself let down.
Well, I got sucked into this one. Strong cast, very strong director, reasonably compelling trailer...
The plot: a guy is convicted of murdering his girlfriend after an argument, it's a seemingly open and shut case, that must have been performed by the least competent police and coroner ever... A (very conflicted) juror however agitated that the jury deeply explore what has occurred and progressively begins to identify gaps in the case..:
It was just nonsensical when it came to actual court and investigative process, which is what 80% of the movie covers.
It might just pass for a family movie with younger teenage kids. But that's about it. A disappointing film.
