I tried, I honestly tried, from the first woeful "drunk alcoholic" actor playing the angry dad, then to the fake Italians witha the bad accents, the scruffy Don being elevated to Godfather in what looked like someone's terraced house dining room, the attempts at humour, the cheap sets, abysmal acting from most of the cast, the written by numbers script copied by everyone
I tried but couldn't find one redeeming feature of this movie, I'm usually a fan of this genre but struggled to enjoy any aspect , to anyone that watchs this to the bitter end I salute you, you are indeed a better man than I, I did try.
I'll be honest I gave up after 40 mins of episode one
I so wanted this to be a hit , showing off Aberdeen, it's citizens and police force to a uk audience
What I got was some good acting, some bad acting and some frankly woeful scriptwriting !
What could've been an interesting subject (outsider starts new job in a new city and a new country) moves on to a by the book tv cop show with the standard 1 in a million chance that the main character sees the murder victim threatened to be killed by someone then argue with his own brother all in a quiet city centre street (how lucky was that ?) where for some reason they were announcing a merger by two major companies to a crowd of about 50 extras who waved placards and politely clapped !
I may give it another go, but only if I'm really bored
The drone footage was good though, at least it had that going for it !

Mysterious stranger takes over tough inner city pub
After one week and throwing out one group of ineffectual louts , the locals all love him, the mid 30s single mother barmaid and her pals all fall for him even though he looks in his 60s, romance and bad acting follow , he's supposed to be a former tough guy but he doesn't give off any latent threat
The characters are one dimensional apart from the girl who plays the barmaids daughter, good young actress
Sound terrible
Soundtrack from someone's Mates band
So predictable.
It had the makings of a good story but so many aspects made it unwatchable.
