This movie (and yes, this is basically just a movie) is awful to watch. Its tragic, its existential, and it makes you feel like a wreck. It is everything you dont want in a christmas movie. But my God, its so good. The acting, the story, the characters, the twists. And the ending might be one of the greatest thing I have ever seen. Period. Setting it during christmas is such a wonderful litterary element that enhances the story in ways that is difficult to state. When I originally watched it I fel tlike the second ha,f was a lot slower and less interesting than the first. But on a recent rewatch, the entire thign was reveresed, and I concider it an improvement over the first half. Its pretty much flawless and a much watch if you like tragedies.
This is the greatets comic book movie ever created. The whole movie oozes with charm, detail and love, like it is ripped right out of a comic. The incredible Hulk wishes it was this.
Michael Cera is often complained about playing the same character in every movie. And while you can definetly ay that, you cannot take away from his preformance in this movie. The rest of the cast is also incredible.
The Special effects are just so good. Compare this movie to so much of the garbadge CGI we get today. Yes, it does not all look realistic, but it is meant to be a video game. And in that sense, everything blends together, it truly feels like everything is real, and not just a regular movie.
There is not really that much more I can say, just go and watch. It is endless fun, and I doubt I will ever get tired of watching it.

This movie doesnt really seem to know what it wants to be. Half of the time it is about the actual Alta case, and the protest against it. But the other half it is about some random character that was made up for the movie and her life. And it is like, really boring. This movie is nearly 2 hours long, but it could easily be cut down to oen and a half by just removing all the pointless scenes about her life. Yes, we need to know something about our main character, but no one came to watch the movie to watch her, but to watch the story of the Alta case. So half the movie is something that we dont want to see.
The movie doesnt even have a real conclusion. It kind of just ends without coming to a conclusion. Which is weird, considering that there this is a standalone movie, so leaving it on an open ending is such a weird creative choice.
The rest of the movie is fine, I guess. The acting is ok, the cinematography si nothing special and the script and dialogue is pretty ok. In all, a bit of a let down.
