For the record, I tend to LOVE the post-apocalyptic genre. Be it nuclear destruction, plague, or complete societal collapse. I like to see the transition from normalcy, through its demise, and how differently the population handles the chaos.
However, THIS particular show happens to deal with a medical demise of our world population. NOTHING could be more apropos, having just gone through COVID and the depopulation of our planet.
I feel the show adeptly handles the reality we lived. Sure, there are many differences, but the fact remains, we went through a global pandemic, in which a MILLION people died.
To be sure, some Trumptards will dispute this figure, but there's no denying that those people died.
However, THIS particular show happens to deal with a medical demise of our world population. NOTHING could be more apropos, having just gone through COVID and the depopulation of our planet.
I feel the show adeptly handles the reality we lived. Sure, there are many differences, but the fact remains, we went through a global pandemic, in which a MILLION people died.
To be sure, some Trumptards will dispute this figure, but there's no denying that those people died.
No one can say definitely, what awaits in the afterlife. Whether it's infinite black and nothingness, or a heaven, where all of our wildest dreams come true, to a white-hot burning hell, where every minute, of every day, our fingernails are pulled out with pliers.
I hope to believe, that it's something closer to "Defending Your Life." Where upon entering purgatory, you reflect on the seminal moments, that best define your character and moral fiber. Where your qualities as a human being, are weighed and it's decided whether you've achieved the necessary growth as an individual, to move on to the NEXT realmm. Whatever that may be.
Having said that. Enjoy this film. It's sweet and wholesome.

The only reason it gets a five from me is because Jimmy Cliff was in it. Easily Robin Williams worst film to this point in his career.
Now I have to think of another five hundred words to leave this review. I only saw it because a friends father worked for a local radio station(WLOQ) and occasionally, got free tickets to movie premieres. This was one. There was another dud, which I can't recall, right now, and the single good/great movie was Aliens. The sequel to Alien, but based on our track record, I was certainly not optimistic about. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be superior to the original.
I think the other movie wax Armed and Dangerous. Also bad.
