EvylOverLord's rating
The movie is entertaining, and is enjoyable to watch. It seems to be an alright fit into the Stargate cannon from what I can recall from the original movie and SG1. It's not perfect by any means, but most things aren't. It's definitely a better cannon fit than a lot of the Highlander films are to each other. I digress.
This movie has some heart, and characters that are likeable or hateable respectively. There is a clear plot progression and conclusion. The acting isn't spectacular by any means, but also isn't terrible. It is a decent addition to the Stargate universe.
Now, I will say that I have some confusion based on there being a series also called Origins and a musical maybe as well? I haven't seen any of these, and maybe the lower rating of this movie has something to do with how those fit in. I admit I am not inspired to see these, as I think they would probably not be as good. They might even change things for me in a way I wouldn't enjoy as far as Catherine's story is concerned.

Although, I admit there are a few things that would have made this movie even better, and that my 8 is rounded up, I enjoyed watching this movie, and found it heartwarming and unique. I found the main female lead to be amazing. Her character was just so pure and gentle, and she acted it with childlike charm. The male character's journey was interesting, and although I think it should have been a bit more well completed in the story, was still good and decently acted. I did feel the plot could have been deeper and more well rounded, but the film is entertaining, enjoyable, and heartwarming.
I feel the beginning and the ending were a little too thin and rushed, and that this movie had the potential for a higher score if that hadn't been the case. The acting was good. The overall story was sweet. I was entertained, and felt lots of actual emotion for the characters. I laughed; I cried, and was quite happy with my choice to watch this movie.

Okay, so a good thing first, it has a good cast. But what was the point of this? There were so many assumed important details that never get explained. There is so much time spent on setting scenes, but no plot to speak about. It was long and slow, and went nowhere. Well, technically, the cast went places physically, but why?
This movie has so many unanswered questions. There are so many minute details that seem so meaningful, but without the necessary context seem pointless and wasted. So it's true that a vampires long life would likely move at a snails pace, as time is relative... However, an entire movie based on a week in the life of an immortal couple is really not worth the time wasted as eternity is not on the viewer's side. Even the movie has a character ask a question that's never answered. This question is only one of several that I had throughout the film.
I guess some people like the slow, dull, artsy but empty type of films. This movie is likely at least a 9 for them. For me, I want more than just a couple cool scenes. I want the full story. I want to know how and why the characters act as they do, what brought them to their current situations. There are so many questions unanswered in this movie. But it may help with insomnia.
