So this film started off like a regular comedy but then surprised me by getting hilariously wild. I'm a big fan of fantasy movies so I loved the more fantastical elements of it, and the dark humor had me laughing at things I didn't expect to! It was really different and it was super refreshing compared to the movies I'm used to seeing. Also the acting was great too, the two main guys are way too funny together and had me invested in all of their crazy drama. This is definitely one of those films I'm gonna want to go back and rewatch a second time. Give this film a chance, it's super weird but in a good way!
This series captures the heart and mood of some of the most iconic shows like the X-Files while still providing an original and fresh spin on the genre. The story arc, especially of the first season is so well executed and delivers on every single plot point and mystery it sets up. The story also delivers powerfully on themes of friendship, family, and love, while still having cool sci-fi monsters.
Order of the Phoenix is arguably the most difficult book to adapt because it's the longest, and Michael Goldenberg wrote a phenomenal screenplay that captured and even expanded upon the major themes and essence of the book. Even though some of the plot had to be sacrificed for time, the heart of the book was still there and that was something that the rest of the Potter movies lacked sometimes. The script in addition to the performances from Daniel Radcliffe and Gary Oldman and their heartfelt onscreen relationship puts this movie in line with other iconic fantasy and franchise movies like Lord of the Rings or Star Wars.
