The Little Mermaid (2023)
I was not expecting this...
Okay, I loved the animated version of The Little Mermaid, and since the Peter Pan and Wendy live action was extremely disappointing, I didn't have high expectations for this one, but oh boy, all of the casting choices were amazing! The songs were incredible, especially the new one named For the First Time, everyone in their roles were amazing, some of the only problems I have with the acting is that Melissa Mcarthy didn't feel that intimidating in some of the scenes, but she was still good. (But if you have seen the ending, oh my gosh, that's where she does it best)
Here are some of the problems I have with it: The animals, Sebastian looks like they tried to make him realistic, but then someone else made him look a bit animated, and that led to some weird eyes, and Flounder just looks like a regular fish, (Almost all of the other fish looks like that) so it looks weird when he talks in a child voice. Scuttle looks fine actually. Some of the scenes just looks a bit weird, and feels a bit too long, or you can't see what they're doing properly. But that's it with the problems I have.
Other than that, this is my favorite Disney Live Action so far! I also like some of the new story for it, but I wont spoil it if you wanna see it. But after I have said all of this, do I recommend it? Yes! A hundred percent.
Barbie: Mermaid Power (2022)
The best Barbie mermaid movie.
This movie was surprisingly enjoyable, other than a few dumb scenes, but when you get past that, the movie becomes better than Pearl Princess, better than Mermaid Tale and better than the second one. I really recommend. Watch this movie if you like Barbie movies and maybe don't watch it if you have disliked all the new ones, but that's you're choice! Honestly, this is the best Barbie movie out of the 2021-2022. It had Isla, it had a working story, and it had Marlo! Marlo's character development was actually really entertaining to watch, with Barbie struggling to get up, and Marlo having to make a tough decision of continuing her evil ways or finally making a selfless action, anyway, I would definitely recommend a family with small children to watch this, or watch it alone.
Barbie & Her Sisters in a Puppy Chase (2016)
Everything went wrong with this movie.
Barbie and her sisters in a great puppy adventure had a cute storyline with likable characters and cute puppies! After, another Barbie Puppy movie came out, (Even though I watched Puppy Chase before Puppy Adventure, it still makes me angry) this movies "Moral" practically says: "Don't practice, if you practice, you're destined to fail." So, Chelsea needs to practice for a competition but then they lose their puppies so they have to find them, that's it, right? RIGHT? Nope, Barbie is incredibly stupid, Chelsea is stupid, for listening to Barbie. The plot is, no. My favorite character is literally the weird poodle, the other characters are, eh. The climax of the puppies being trapped in the car, wouldn't have happened if like, Marco and the other one weren't dumb enough to not call Barbie or like Skipper. Anyways, this movie is just terrible. Please go and watch Barbie and her sisters in a great puppy adventure, and not this one, please.
Lightyear (2022)
Just watch Toy Story.
Okay. Just okay, that's this movie. It was enjoyable enough, but I would rather watch Toy Story than this. I liked the LGBTQ representation, but that was rarely shown, I think the side characters are fine, Buzz is fine. I was actually caught off guard by the villain, the cat was probably one of my favorites, I just don't really think much of this movie, but if you only watch movies for visual pleasing reasons then I recommend. Other than that, I would rather watch Toy Story, or Turning Red or a Barbie Movie. Or just any other movie. Overall 3/10. Thanks for listening, uh, reading.
Side note: I would also rather to watch a Tinkerbell movie.
Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 2 (2011)
Much better than the first
Okay okay, I wanna start by saying that, it's WAY more entertaining than the first one, no annoying characters, good rival story, the only thing that keeps me from thinking that this movie is amazing, is that nothing much happens in the first half, but after that, the story gets a really good plot. And I think the movie is great, just not amazing. I still really recommend if you've already watched the first and haven't seen this one.
Barbie in a Mermaid Tale (2010)
A little overrated
When I was gonna rewatch it, I thought it was going to be very good. Now that I've watched it, let me say: This movie is not that good. Barbie is fine, but the other characters don't feel that important other than the mom. I wish that there was a bit dramatic fight scenes, though I know this is a Barbie movie, but yeah. The only characters that weren't that annoying was Barbies friends, Snouts, and the mom, I don't really have anymore to say. But remember, this is MY OPINION! Thanks.
Barbie Mariposa and Her Butterfly Fairy Friends (2008)
Not perfect, but good.
The concept of this movie is actually really interesting in my opinion. The fact that this is a spin-off of Fairytopia is already a plus. And with Barbie narrating the story, other than being the main protagonist is really refreshing and fun to watch, a new journey with a new main character in a Barbie movie, it almost gives me the same vibes as Barbie in a Christmas Carol, and I really enjoyed that movie. Now to all my opinions. (Yes MY opinion) I really like Mariposa, she's one of my favorite characters in the movie, but no one shines like Henna. I know she's the villain and stuff, but one of my favorite scenes have her, (It's the part where she told Mariposa to join her side) and she has such a fun personality. Now to the parts that I did not like; The skeezites, they're just so ugly. Like the movie is really pretty, and then they just made the skeezites so low quality looking. And the last thing that I really don't like, this might be an unpopular opinion: The gosh darn annoying bunny. I hated the introduction of it, and the personality. Everything about it was so annoying, I'm glad it was the first one to stay in the cave. Oh well, finished with my review, overall 7/10 to the movie.
