Obviously this show is not as good or will ever be as good as Kim's Convenience but it does have its moments. The first episode isn't the greatest and I think that's where many people who rated the show stopped watching. The show does get better as it progresses. Nicole Power is really good in this and the guy that plays the janitor is also pretty good. I'm only in season 1, episode 8, but so far I quite enjoy it. Whst could be better is the writing. There are some funny parts but nothing that's belly laugh worthy. I know Ride the Burbs isn't a spin-off but this is WAY better than that show. Cheers.
This movie had a lot of potential but it needed some major improvements in some areas. First of all, if I was financing a movie I would use this movie as a lesson to never use this director. The writing isn't great so you would need to add a good head writer and figure out which of the writers suck and never use them again. Finally you need to use a better casting company. There are so many actors that are miscast in this movie. Chris Rock is a better actor than this role. The lead cop needs to be sn unattractive overweight angry cop instead of the beauty they have cast. Other than that, it's great. Cheers.
