Very enjoyable series.
I was apprehensive reading the negative reviews but it's not as bad as the reviews make it out to be. Yes, it does have some weak points but the chemistry between Bhumi and Ishaan is not one of them. There is absolutely no problem there or with Bhumi's acting. However, as much as I love Bhumi Pednekar, I think she is miscast in this role. She simply doesn't fit the stereotype of a suave, sophisticated, self-made, successful business woman. Everyone seems to be miscast, Aviraaj is supposed to be the eldest son but he looks like he could be the youngest. Both his love interests look way older than him.
If the creators of this series were looking to make an Indian version of Bridgerton, then I would say they have been partially successful, although this may not get the widespread popularity of Bridgerton. The grandeur of Indian royals, though spectacular, looks unrealistic. The problem is that this series is based in current times while Bridgerton is a period drama. It is difficult to fact-check Bridgerton. If the idea was to introduce Ishaan on a horse akin to Simon Bassett, then I would say Ishaan Khatter is way more dashing than either Rege-Jean Page or Jonathan Bailey. He was very impressive in The Perfect Couple where he shared the screen with the powerful Nicole Kidman.
Apart from miscasting, the series suffers from weak script and plot. It turned into a tear-jerker towards the end but overall not bad.

Genuinely cute and adorable movie.
Another gem from Varun Grover. I had been eagerly waiting for this movie to be released on OTT since it wasn't shown in theaters in my area. As usual Grover doesn't disappoint. If you were studying for competitive exams in the 80s and 90s this movie will totally resonate with you. The movie opens in 1992 but appeared more like 1984 to me. As I was reading the reviews, I can totally understand why some of the reviews are so negative, those people are too dumb to understand it. And none of the so-called professional reviewers even caught the crux of this film, the biggest question the movie asks - about our education system - we grill and teach students the complicated concepts of physics and math but do we teach them to be good citizens? Does the education give you the skills to differentiate between right vs wrong? Good vs Evil? Moral vs immoral? Or, is the education simply a means of earning a living? The scene where the father finds out that Mohit is going to IIT-Kanpur was the most powerful scene of the movie. Whoever thought the movie doesn't have an ending - that's why you are not an IITian.

I wonder what the reviews would have been if the opening credits didn't mention "Harry and Meghan" or if nobody knew that they produced it. The amount of vitriol directed at a prince just because he married for love and not somebody approved by his people is appalling. I enjoyed watching this series, it showcases Polo which is not something that most people know much about. Was it the best show I ever saw on Netflix? Definitely not. But there are plenty of nail-biting moments and plenty of interesting ones. Compared to all the other crap on Netflix that has much higher rating, this series was definitely the victim of celebrity hate and negative propaganda.
Yes, this is a sport for rich people just like horse racing and you see lavish environments. What's wrong with that? Why do people watch the Real Housewives of... and the Kardashians.. if they hate the rich so much? The series shows the dedication and hard work that goes into this sport. The skill required to correctly hit the ball while also controlling the horse charging at lightning speed was absolutely fascinating. Hats off to the people who play this sport. Don't go by the negative false propaganda, forget the names Harry and Meghan and see for yourself.
