  • Jennings the Best!

High caliber human beings. Great idea for the us hard-core. Jennings makes everything work. Rare is a person so suited for the job as Ken.

His timing, his remarks, his gentility. Everything screams that this man was destined to do what he does!

It would be good if the young lady who also hosts would take a few ideas from his style. Her timing is so awkward when she will pause before saying that the answer is correct. Unnerving to the watchers and I would think the players as well.

Of course, the writers deserve credit for their questions, or rather answers. They deserve to be introduced.

    Again, Jennings is the Best!

  • Jennings for host

A friend and I have recorded and competed every Wednesday for more than fifteen years. Not wanting to in any way show disrespect to her, I find Mayim as awkward when giving answers. She just blurts as opposed to prefacing with the interrogative like are the rules of the game. Somehow she may be over-degreed for the position. Never wanting to hurt her feelings, my opinion is she would be happier on some scientific research team worthy of her education. Will always watch it, anyway. I feel Ken was bred for the job. He just seems more comfortable and injects appropriate comments which may or may not be fed to him by the writers.

  • Why?

After so many seasons of great writing and great actors in both major and minor roles, why would the franchise accept such amateurish writing and acting. I wanted so much to like this new season of a show that has been sacred for so long but ..... Have all the good writers gone to the streaming services? Such a shame for Waterston's career to end this way.

The assistant DA's acting is not convincing probably due to the writing. Same goes for the Police chief that has to use "ass" a couple of gratuitous times per episode. Likewise, the detectives don't have the street savvy and personality that their predecessors always had in abundance. It might help to hire an editor to catch schmaltz like the opening scene with the dead cop friend that the detective hadn't seen in three years who poignantly said "See you on the other side".

Addition after a few more episodes... 1. Much better detective replacement.

    2. That poor guy as Asst DA.... In every scene he is like a wired caricature. The last episode when he was face to face with McCoy's daughter, you could see the difference between her acting normal and he was acting like he was reaching for the back rows of the Globe Theater.

Even the last episode in his boss's office he confessed that he "vents".

It is facinating how all the actors look so good next to this poor fellow who sticks out with his weird Shakespearean community theater amateur hour.

    3. I'm thinking that he is next to go in some dramatic fashion. Of, course, I could also see him becoming a cult hero for getting where he got so far. I wish him luck but he really is hard to watch except as a verifiable train wreck.

    4. He can blame the writers who couldn't bring themselves to have Jack's daughter say, "I love you, Daddy". (the nation would have choked on tears.) 5. Update months later: Good writers back, excellent peripheral actor casting.... Maybe we are coming to be amused by Dancy. Everybody is great, he sticks out, poor guy, though what office doesn't have a guy that stands out as a drama king.

Comic relief. Though, you may see him getting his own series for his idiosyncrasy.
