How long, how talkative! It was off to a good start, however, this film: it was rather captivating, offered striking sequences, announced a hard and poignant story. But the concentration on trials, particularly static, has taken over. Side effects, sterile debates against a background of light music by John Williams to try to occupy our hearing, nice words by clichéd characters full of good feelings, to end up with a happy ending which, historically, does not so is no secret. Finally, despite some very scattered sequences and a nice decoration, it's a barely correct film, likely to disappoint because of its long lengths. He keeps the merit of presenting us with an anecdote from History which may suggest that we deepen the subject on Wikipedia.
A beautiful work, very sensory. We have it for our eyes, for our ears, for various sensations that approach the mystical experience of a trip to the past. By its light, I recognized there without being mistaken Kubrick and his Barry Lyndon, source of inspiration for the director. It's a simple film, but not at all simplistic. He attaches himself to the relationships between his few characters to whom we quickly become attached and makes us captivated in many respects like ugly gossips. We will note the beautiful services and the care given to light. This film, although it is not necessarily suitable for all audiences, contemplative and captivating, is a must-see.
Unstoppable as far as I'm concerned. This film is boring, with an extraordinary linearity, and featuring with all the possible clichés the good feelings and the nice little silly relationships of sisters whose bickering is the type to end with a smile, a wink and a big ridiculous hug that makes my hair stand on end in embarrassment. All sprinkled with permanent music without inspiration from Alexandre Desplat, reminiscent of the snowy TV movies of Sunday afternoons during the Christmas holidays (you know, clarinet, tambourine with little cymbals and little bells...). All that's missing is an audience like in sitcoms to make little "ooooooooooooooh" by tilting his head with a teardrop. I add one point at the minimum possible for the reconstitution and the costumes. It was worth the visual appeal for 10 minutes.
