I read the book not too long ago and enjoyed it. Never got round to seeing the film until it was on TV last night. Usually like Brad Pitt anyway, good actor, believable in just about any part and excellent in this. Not seen too many zombie things and this is more action than concentrating on Zombies. Great sets, moves along at a great pace, not too many pauses where they concentrate on the zombies too much. Always looking for a solution which means Brad's character has to think on his feet the whole time. Funny watching this after covid and all the negativity about the vaccines that the WHO insisted on. If covid had been a bit more than a cough and flu like symptoms in most people, apart from the ones it was fatal for, I'm sure there wouldn't have been so much negativity.
Typical box ticking Netflix series but once you start you have to see what happens. Some of these British series you would hardly recognise as being based in Britain. All that's missing is a 3 legged gay dog. I couldn't imagine her macho ex boyfriend being happy with his flatmate and then how her Dad turned out, without making too many spoilers was just a step too much and laughable. We've watched several Harlan Coben things, always twists you don't see coming. The British produced things are usually better than the US ones, we've watched a couple from Aus and New Zealand lately and they've been much more believable.
Good acting by all involved. I could remember the court case being in the papers and on TV in America so it was good to see the details, even if a lot of them are embelished, like all series on netflix have to do. Watching it you swing from feeling like they should get the gas chamber early on to feeling sorry for the boys, then swinging back till in the end you really aren't sure what to believe. The young guys playing the brothers are excellent, Javier Bardem is a lot more scary than their real Dad looked but you can see why two strapping boys would and could be scared of an elder figure in their lives. Court scenes were excellent and the lawyers believable.
