This documentary could have been great if it wasn't for such poor editing. Makes me wonder if they couldn't afford a good editor or they simply chose not to hire a competent editor.
The whole documentary is a mess because it's put together so badly. I've seen school projects that were put together better than this.
The entire documentary goes like this: some guy says one sentence. Then it cuts off to another guy saying one sentence. Then you see a soccer footage of about 2-3 seconds. Then another guy says one sentence which gets cut off by another guy saying one a few words which gets cut off by another random soccer footage of 2-3 seconds.
There is no coherence, nothing that ties anything together. Just random clips of people saying a few words in and random clips of soccer footage terribly put together without having a story to tell.

The movie starts out as a bank heist & action movie featuring Ryan Gosling and once it gets your attention it turns into a COMPLETELY different movie with completely different set of actors. It basically switches from an exciting bank heist move to an empty and boring melodrama that has nothing to do with how the movie started.
This is dishonest. If the producers wanted to make a family melodrama they should have made one. They didn't have to play bait and switch with people just to get their movie to sell. I don't know why they resorted to tactics like this.
Also this is NOT an art movie. Not every slow and boring movie is an art movie. That's not what art is.

If you want to prove to the world that Oscar awards are totally meaningless and random, you can use this movie as a proof of that. Giving this thing an Oscar is just one step short of giving Oscar awards to Youtube videos which I think we will start seeing in a few years because we truly live in the age of idiocracy.
This movie could have been a 20 minute episode on a TV show and completely forgotten but every idiot is singing its praises because they gave it an Oscar for absolutely no reason. There is absolutely nothing in this animation that deserves an Oscar. It's not even an ok movie. It's simply terrible.
