Does any one here remember how GoT was paced in the first few seasons? Because this is pretty similar.
When people are asking where the action is in this DRAMA Series I cannot take them seriously. Do you want 30 minute episodes with mediocre effects and action every few scenes like on Disney+ or actually great TV with good dialogue and amazing battles that blow 99% of the competition away once each season? Because the latter is what Game of Thrones always was and what this season masters.
Take Episode 6 for example: currently a 6.2 user Rating here. The reason: "nothing" happened (and homophobic review bombing but we do not talk about that). Saying this episode contains nothing and is filler is just wrong. In progressed the plot and also progressed character arcs like Daemons. It's not filler and the same episode would have probably gotten a 8. Something in GoT days. People think way to much in black and white/good and bad these days. Nothing in between.
Like the first season this one had it's flaws and I do understand people expecting more but they are taking there time to tell this story and I can appreciate that. And the writing and amount subtext this series has is still above most other shows out there.

I wanted to love the show and I really do enjoy parts of it. But for the past few weeks the more I think about "The Acolyte" and the more I watch from it, the more I feel disappointed by the show.
This however is the best the show had to offer so far: I think the concepts about the force and the Jedi, as well as the representation of the time period work the best in this episode. And I will still defend the character dynamics in the show, especially between Sol and the twins.
Still leaves a lot to be desired for the acting and dialogues are still only meh and the direction, although not nearly as bad as before, still feels cheap.
But this episode gives me hope. Hope that maybe the show can be at least a little satisfying.
Ps.: I bet the next episode is gonna be called "Night".

Ashoka did it. It finally got from okay to really good. The one thing that tells me is that Filoni clearly has a strength for Pay Off but not so much for Setup. You can see that through out all of his work. But this episode was very much a mid-season finale and it worked. Ray Stevensons character is really interesting as always but this time around others like Sabine can shine to and her acting has greatly improved. Even Ahsoka gets to show some emotions, wow show your title character is finally getting interesting Halde way through.
The slow pace is not so mach felt here, which is good. This is no Andor where the writing is so great, that you can allow yourself dialogue heavy episodes and extended scenes. It's no Andor but it's enjoyable and it's improving, finally!!!
