I know most of people seeing Morck is entirely unlikeable, along with a lot of other characters within his police department, which would leave most watchers asking, why am I watching this when I can't engage with any of the characters? Watch on. The dynamics are brilliant and some nuances can be easily missed. Goode's sociopathic performance as a twisted, sarcastic, cynical police, PTSD affected officer is fascinating and convincing, and pulls it off well. He does have elements of empathy that are truly telling of his underlying humanity. I sat back and imagined if David Tennant could have filled this role as well as Goode does. I believe they would have broken even. A great watch, with some well known actors doing their best stuff in yet another Scottish based crime drama based on the book series by Danish crime writer Jussi Adler-Olsen adapted to Journal 64 The Purity of Vengeance. The transition is made well, with the moody scottish scenery.
I wanted to take my time watching this show because 8 episodes is truly too short but it's TOO good to not binge in one sitting!!!! Lovie Simone & Michael Cooper Jr are SOO amazing in their roles of Keisha and Justin, I was instantly taken back to my first love and heartbreak. Their honesty to each other, their moments of immaturity due to their age but their quick realization that their love was worth it, ugh everything about this show was perfection. I really hope we see more from this series in the future, and more work like this from the amazing Mara Brock Akil !!!!!
This show is powerful on so many levels.

It was such an honor to have been a part of this beautiful show with such an all-star cast. The show really warms my heart and does a great job at paying homage to my grandpa's 1981 movie while adding a modern take on the concept. It's now a comfort show of mine. A fun, heartwarming show. I have to admit that i reallyyy liked this!! The biggest thing i wanted was to see Colman Domingo queening out and we got that so im happy! I really wish this series doesnt get cancelled and i hope it returns with either these characters or even new ones i don't really mind (although ending with a cliffhanger is a bit harsh if we dont get to see them again)
