I didn't expect much when I began to watch the movie and didn't come out with much after it was over. All this movie is is a clichéd and very dumb love story who's plot didn't take it anywhere(or at least that's how I felt). But seriously this movie really felt as though it was going nowhere. As a matter of fact the only way you know that the story is moving along is the progression from one scene to the next, and even then the movie still felt as hollow as you can get. Then there are the scenes that show that the studio, director, etc. were too cheap to pay to film at real places. The subway looked fake, the highway Jude and Max were on looked fake, and even Lucy's breast looked fake. Now the final thing is the covers. How anybody found that these covers were better than the originals completely confuses me. To begin with almost all the covers were a mere shell of the originals. "Come Together" had no bass line, "Helter Skelter" was completely screwed up by Dana Fuchs, "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was screwed up by Bono. Almost every cover was stupid. They even managed to screw up "Flying", the most simple song in the movie. And the travesty that "Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite" was. And if it wasn't the songs it was the scenes that accompanied them that dumbed the song down(i.e. the Strawberry Feilds segment and the She's so Heavy segment). Overall, it isn't the worst movie that I've seen, but no plot and a good amount of bad covers did not help this movie either.
With shows such as Ed,Edd,& Eddy and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy becoming irrelevant on Cartoon Network, I, at the time, thought this show would be the confirmation of the death of an era. An era that saw shows like Courage the Cowardly Dog, the first 2 shows that I mentioned, and the classics Dexter's Lab and Johhny Bravo. I only just listened to the first few episodes, and it wasn't until I sat down to watch it that I realized my assumption was wrong. This show is downright hilarious. The characters are just as hilarious with Chowder being a mix of a bear, cat, and Rabbit, and Snitzel being a rock monster that only speaks "Radda,Radda." There is also the classic line "I almost had something to live for." All in all this cartoon just has style. And sadly Cartoon Network is not capitalizing on this by adding garbage shows like George of The Jungle and Johnny Test.
I never thought that Schindler's List was going to be as good as it was when I first watched the movie. A year later it is still amazing how much this movie impacted me. It's hard to put into words how perfect this movie was, which is why this review will seem very simple. Yet, I guess that perfect is the exact word for Schindler's List. It is beyond me how some people do not like this masterpiece or how some people do not think that the Holocaust happened. To the people who do not like this film, you do not know what a movie is and are probably to busy watching movies like Epic Movie. And to those think the Holocaust never happened, well than you just go on believing that BS, cause it did happen. All I know is that this is the only real movie that has brought me to tears. Truly a perfect movie that I am not sure will ever be surpassed.
