Like most movies about the Dark, sleep & dreams, I fell asleep halfway through - the same happens, if I read a novel, or a scientific article on this or any related subject; fortunately I was streaming it, so when I woke from my nap, I picked it up where I left off. I liked this story, at some point, I might even read the book, just to see what thoughts, feelings, memories, and chained associations it evokes.
Sometimes when I talk about a story, people wonder if we've seen heard or read the same thing, and I tell them that what we get from any story, is less about the author's intend, and more about who we are..
A featured review mentioned "Metafictional levels" {sic}, I liked this observation, I'd just say it was "layered", what 'meaning' you draw from this is depends on you, the most important thing to me is, it ENTERTAINS --- and that is a rare thing these days, where entertained has been discarded for "The Message" (whatever that is).
Every story has has a message, but if that message is pushed at the expense of the story, the dissonance destroys the experience, and instead of enjoying the journey, we are left dreading the destination.
I say, watch this without expectation, either alone or with someone{s} --- and maybe even talk about it afterwards.
It made me smile, I like stories that make me smile, I think it will make you smile too, and that alone is reason enough to watch it.

I loved this show, it had just the right combination of crime and relationships for me. I found it both interesting and easy to watch, a fun way to spend an enjoyable hour of streaming.
I really don't watch much any more, because it seems more shows are focused on sending some sorta message, than entertain me. I'd parted ways with the CW, when many of there shows started following the whole DEI/ESG formula. Not surprisingly this is on CW by way of Canada & not from their studio - good choice CW.
Thank you Wild Cards, for entertaining me (I've missed that). Obviously my taste in Rom-Crime may not be the same as yours, but I suggest you give this series at least a look, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

While working in a comic book store in the 80's I saw a lot of change come to the DC Universe, but none more amazing than Crisis on Infinite Earth. I don't know what this is supposed to be, but this isn't it. Race and gender swapped, I could cringe, but still enjoy - but this was just, a travesty. A poorly contrived story, that bears little if no resemblance to the original.
Warner Bros. Used to stick pretty close to canon, I watched almost everything they did. Sometimes it was like watching the characters come right up off of the page, and onto the screen. It's not fatigue that is killing the industry, it's poor storytelling, and the lack of understanding of an underlying mythos that has endured, and nourished fans imagination, for more than 70 years. I know, because I lived them. It feels almost like a betrayal. If you have no idea about what lead up to this unique moment in comic book history - you might like it. All I can say, is that it just makes me sad.
