The UK pretends that having a real Mexican consultant is impossible to attain. For 'Mexican' week could this show not have had an actual Mexican consultant? This reviewer would not ask for that if the incumbent judges and cast hadn't been so unqualified. One of the most disappointing qualities of this episode besides the incorrect representation of what qualifies as actual Mexican food, is the refusal to pronounce Spanish words correctly. One can rewind through the series and find that these Brits will properly pronounce French, Italian, Indian, german and Eastern European words, but go out of their way to mispronounce Spanish word as simple as guacamole, tortilla, and dulce. The contestants should not be held to the standard but it seems that the experts should be able to make a good effort to pronouncing words correctly. 'Tort-tee-yah' ... 'Dool-seh' not quite as hard as 'croissant'.
This is comedy. Hilarious, original, and visceral. Probably the best depiction of unintended parentally inflicted trauma on screen. Also a display of how ungrateful the millennial/post millennial generation can be. Easy to absorb because the viewer can see how rooted this humor is in reality; even through the farcical extremes. An absolute much watch. This viewer wants to see more. Visual comic art. Captures the nuances of familial craziness making it universal although somehow being quite specific. A refreshing change from overarching into the shocking but shocks in a way that is unexpected in a world of content that seems to do eat thing for a laugh. A return to reality humor. BRAVO!
Tried to like this show but it's no good. I'm totally down with Netflix allowing animated penises and rectums but this show is just relying on shock value for shock values sake. 'Shock' after 'shock' after 'shock' after 'shock' with no substance. Such a shame that Netflix cancelled Q-force and at the same time green-lit this garbage. Q-Force was sexy, clever and while it took things a bit too far into shock value, had potential to round itself out. I'd bet this show makes viewers upset that such crap gets produced reinforcing the idea that Netflix will produce anything. No consideration for quality; throwing spaghetti to see what sticks. And in regards to something like Q-Force: Netflix did not allow this entertaining and groundbreaking series to get its legs. Its so counterintuitive to what I personally have loved about Netflix, because it revived or perpetuated less than successful but good series like Arrested Development and Manifest. Come on Netflix: Q- Force was far better than this!
