First let me say this movie did have an "ok" cast, I especially loved Frank & Maxine, but that's about all I loved. The pompous "in-laws" along with the pompous "fiancée" were so over the top MEAN, it was hard to watch. I have always loved Candace Cameron-Bure and Paul Greene but I did not enjoy them together in this movie, it's like they were "too nice" "too much teeth" "looked too perfect"... I didn't think they had any chemistry whatsoever and in all honesty, I thought their acting was horrid. My biggest complaint though was the musical score, whoever composed it should've been fired and never allowed to compose another movie, the music was so very bad, it was distracting, annoying, silly, strange, grating... it was the worst musical score I've ever heard, I can still hear the shrieks in my ears, absolutely dreadful. The last thing I'll say is when Dylan goes home and sees his former girlfriend, the interaction was extremely weak, she was a horrible actress as was the guy who played the brother. This movie was so so so bad and all the fake snow didn't help. I know this review is harsh but it had to be told.
Finally Hallmark nailed it! This movie was so enjoyable to watch. I loved BD & JB as the leads, they were cute together and I also enjoyed the ensemble cast as well. The Inn was festive and joyful. I absolutely loved they incorporated God into the script, after all, Jesus is the reason for the season. Brooke is always beautiful to watch, her acting chops are fantastic and her male counterpart is adorable. As a whole, i thoroughly enjoyed the movie and before I knew it, two hours flew by. I never rolled my eyes or drifted off once. The little girl who played the daughter was cute as a button. I would definitely watch this movie again. Thank you Hallmark, you hit the mark on this one! Congratulations to the entire cast and crew for a job well done.
