The good: great premise, some nice locations, hits many classic horror tropes, there is some promise in this director/writer's work but needs to be further developed.
The bad: technical issues (audio, lighting, camera work) impact viewer engagement, weak script (MC has never heard of the Salem witch trials), some acting issues/line delivery from supporting actors (MC is pretty good).
In general: really wanted to enjoy this but couldn't because of the issues listed above. Would like to see this director work with better writers and do something with a bigger budget. There is some promise here for sure!

Title says it all. Acting and dialogue on par with porn. Very little in the way of real story development, at the end of the film I still feel like I know next to nothing about the bell witch legend etc. There is so much interesting stuff they could have gotten into but instead it's a shaky camera and an even shakier premise for filming. I am typically a fan of found footage films but aside from grave encounters and the hell house series I haven't found much that is well executed. Maybe the harshness of my review is related to knowing how good these films have the potential to be when the material is handled correctly, with better dialogue, and acting. Also a lot of this film is filler and the pacing is really off. Long scenes that add nothing with short minimal scenes that actually develop anything. At the end of the day the characters don't take anything seriously so as an audience member it is similarly hard to emotionally invest in this slow fizzle.
