This is the first movie that I've rated full stars this year. Although two years later then when the film was released. The main reason being, because the movie felt feature-length, plenty of time and plenty to enjoy. Also, the dialogue and voices. Extremely important that the dialogue was believable and realistic as much as possible and extremely important the voice actors did the job with this level of conviction.
Okay, not the most visually stunning of animation films, even so the film took care of itself and its audience. Heart warming, fun, comical, not in your face silly but the vomit comedy wasnt at all needed, just all round very watchable and pleasant, you could watch and watch without getting bored, albeit breaking into song every ten minutes was tedious but still.
Anyone having issues with Adam sandlers voice here needs their head looking at. The third act is a bit chaotic but still entertaining. And in regards the jokes being outdated as you say, well, there's nothing wrong with that.
All in all. Great effort hopefully a sequel.

Okay so I stumbled across this gem after ages of flicking through nonsense on Netflix. This was a new release. What attracted me to this in a few moments with a mini trailer wasn't the fact the Netflix movie was popular or new, it was curiosity because the setting and acting looked better than usual.
I ruined the movie for myself because I found out the plot and the ending. I wanted to see what the movie was about because they don't give much away especially in the first act. Anyway bother doing that.
I'd say that half way through maybe less if you're smart enough you'll work it out for yourself. I would have anyway. Nevertheless this was still a gem in comparison to what other stuff we have been given lately.
Finally, a real movie. Real emotion. Real life. The struggles of a parent with no help because people only care about popularity and fake things these days they don't want to know someone struggling. That relates to my life being a dad full time in a big way only I cannot react the way the lead did. I lost a son before in Covid I was alone. But I reside with my other son who has become my world. He depends on me. And if that changed I don't know what I'd do.
Whether this happened to the lead or not, even if she just got fed up of how people are with her, she would have played her part remarkably well. Oscar for sure if not robbery.
Well done America. First time you've succeeded and shown someone without a mansion in a movie!

Oh no. I so wanted this to be even better than the first one where improvements could be made. But, the story wasn't enough and the tension took too long to get going. They replaced the horror and the effectiveness of a story with action and silly comedy. A total waste of what could have been.
Although some good performances, nothing spectacular by any means from the cast. The main bad guy, who was once in the original movie and the mummy himself, just wasted the entire project with a strange ineffective performance. The chemistry between those characters was shockingly bad even more so than the first movie.
So the script lacked. Decades old now but could have continued the franchise a lot more. The laziness, and the way they spoiled things carried on to the third instalment and then the mummy is no more. So there we go.
