I like this movie. It is romantic, yet thrilling. It is realistic. Good camera. Good acting. Nice locality. Big realistic white shark who looks like they do and behave like a shark, at least doesnt do anything they can't do.
One moment is great for heart attack. Another one for shark attack. 🙃
There was also this moment when they were deciding what are they going to do next. If they want to stay where they are or swim to the nearest Island. Interesting question. In that specific context. I would probably swim.
Yes, even when I know what happened.
I still get back to this movie and watch it again.
If you like shark movies, I recommend this one. Scary, but not too scary.

I expected something deeper, more logical and more helpful to understand how one could possibly overcome something as terrible as killed child (who was also sexually abused if I understood correctly). But this movie was just illogical and trashy. I am pretty sure that grieving father would react differently. The whole family actually. You cannot lost a child to such brutal horrifying event and just continue life being a little sad. Then he came to that shack where he met God's trinity and they talked a lot about god's willingness to let people be beaten, raped or murdered, but didn't really answer anything. It presents abuse as something learn from parents. You were beaten as a child, so you will beat your children. Something like twisted generation trauma. Which is a misinterpretation really rude to victims and survivors. Even if true, you being abused don't excuse you being abusive...
This movie also supports the idea that we cannot tell what is bad and what is good (how could you know if to murder a child is bad or good, right???) and this, imo, leads to ignorancy and passivity. Like you know these things like beating and raping wives or kids are happening, and then you do nothing about it because they will learn from it, it is happening for a reason, it is a part of gods plan, other stupid and coward opinions... We don't need more people with this attitude.
We need people who know it is bad and then are trying to do the right about it (which could be easy like call the cops, mention a helping project, etc.)

I like this one a lot. I even cry a little.
This is an important movie for victims, survivors, and the others who want this abuse to be taken seriously and to be done something about it.
Rape is shown as something disgusting, horrible, despicable, a serious trauma. But you can overcome it and have your life back (a.k.a. The victims and survivors here aren't hysterical and disillusions after decades like they are pictured in some other movies).
It is also trustworthy and authentically showing the dilemma if you should open the old trauma. If it is worthy to stand up and speak. If there is someone who will listen and trust you. It is kinda soothing.
The acting, the costumes and the music weren't anything special, neither something bad. The power of this movie lies in the message.
